What people say

With love, from our
program students

My husband and I are millennial, first-time home buyers. We wanted to get out of renting and into a home of our own. But that was far easier said than done. This past year has seen mortgage prices raise so high; we were nearly out of the housing market entirely. We needed help to understand where we were financially, and how to appropriately prepare for the biggest financial undertaking of our lives.

I had the opportunity to take the Dollars and Good Sense class offered at our local church. This class was welcoming and easy for me to attend, as it was via Zoom each week.

In the comfort of my home, we went from budget information and practice to looking at how rates and other factors impact our home search… and what to do about it!

Before the class I had a lot of uncertainty about how our family would ever get into a new house. After the class, my confidence was tenfold.

I was able to take the new skills and information they taught me and applied it to my life. The result is that 5-6 months later, my family has a home that we could afford, and we are still surviving well in this day and economy, because we are using those same skills.

I now have hope and confidence regarding our financial state. The future outlook of my family is more secure than in years past because of this.

This class did so well for me, I am looking forward to bringing my children to a kid centered class by Dollars and Good Sense, so they too can build better habits early.
